Goodbye Christine Dwyer, Mary Testa, Michael Wartella and Michael McCorry Rose!

Dwyer, Tiffany Haas, Testa and Wartella
Today the Broadway company says goodbye to four extremely incredible cast members.  Departing the cast today are Michael Wartella (Boq), Michael McCorry Rose (Fiyero), Mary Testa (Madame Morrible), and Christine Dwyer (Elphaba).

Wartella came to the Broadway company in July 2013, straight from the 2nd National Tour.  He is loved in the role by many fans, and always makes a very friendly appearance at the stage door.  His presence will be missed!  Rose also joined the Broadway company straight from the 2nd National Tour, as an ensemble member and understudy for Fiyero.  He is finishing his run as full-time Fiyero, having replaced Justin Guarini in the role for a few weeks starting in November.  Testa joined Wicked in February completely new to the show, and has received great notices for her portrayal of Madame Morrible.

Christine Dwyer joined the 2nd National Touring company of Wicked in 2010 as the understudy for Elphaba in the ensemble.  She was promoted to standby for Elphaba in early 2011, and then took over the lead role in April of 2012 on the 2nd National Tour.  She finished her run as Elphaba in April 2013, and then briefly joined the Broadway company of Wicked in November 2013 as the standby for Elphaba, before taking over the role full-time in February.  Christine is known for her love of the people who support her, giving her all at every performance and always being the most sincere person to talk to at the stage door after the show.  All three times I have met her, she has made me feel as though I was the only person waiting, and has been so gracious and kind.  I know great things are in store for her, and she will have a long post-Wicked career.

Oz speed my dears, and we welcome Kara Lindsay, Caroline Bowman, Kathy Fitzgerald, Robin de Jes├║s and Matt Shingledecker to the Gershwin on Tuesday!
